Since opening its borders, Myanmar has experienced a steady increase in overseas travelers. Emerging from past social challenges, Myanmar is now recognized as one of the final frontier “must see” travel destinations in South East Asia.

Since 1990 Chairman Than Oo and his family have pioneered the growth in travel, tourism, leisure & hospitality in Myanmar. For over two decades, they have embraced the potential growth that is now being realized, in both domestic and inbound markets. Based in Yangon, Chairman Than Oo is the doyen of the airline industry, starting with an extensive network of retail ticketing offices nationwide. And in 2013 he launched the domestic airline Mann Yadarnarpon Airlines. A visionary in developing accommodated Irrawaddy River cruises has resulted in the design, construction and successful operation of a fleet of eight vessels.

Ever mindful of the need to explore new waterways and unknown destinations, in 2016 IRRAWADDY VOYAGES Co. Ltd was launched. Comprising a fleet of four accommodated vessels, the RV Samatha and RV Princess Panhwar are privately chartered and the RV Irrawaddy Voyager I and RV Irrawaddy Voyager II are now providing overnight cruises between Bagan and Mandalay.
