Mingun is a small town on the outskirts of Mandalay. It sits on the banks of the Irrawaddy River and is known for the Mingun Pahtodawgyi, an enormous unfinished pagoda. Nearby, the Mingun Bell is a colossal bronze bell from the early 19th century. Within walking distance is the White Hsinbyume Pagoda, defined by its tiered terraces and large stupa.
